ARTIST · TEACHER · FOUNDER OF THE ART H.O.O.D

Meet Hollie.

I’m an abstract artist, secondary-school art teacher and the founder of The Art H.O.O.D, a welcoming space to explore ideas, try something new and enjoy the process of creating.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Artist, teacher and lifelong maker.

I studied Textiles in Practice at Manchester Metropolitan University before becoming a secondary-school Fine Art teacher. For the past nine years, I’ve helped young people explore materials, develop their ideas and build confidence through creativity.

The Art H.O.O.D brings together my love of teaching and making, through relaxed workshops for adults and children, alongside my own collection of abstract artwork and prints.

MY CREATIVE PRACTICE

Shape, colour and texture.

My work is abstract and led by an intuitive process of layering and mark-making. Each piece develops as I work, balancing considered shapes and structure with more spontaneous moments.

I’m drawn to the way colours, textures and forms interact and to creating artwork that brings warmth, interest and individuality to a space.
