DISCOVER PAINTING IN THE NEGATIVE

Discover a different approach to painting as you build layers of colour and reveal shapes through the spaces around them.

With Hollie’s step-by-step guidance, you’ll explore how negative space, colour and composition can work together to create an expressive acrylic painting on canvas.

Perfect for beginners and experienced creatives alike, this calming workshop gives you the freedom to experiment, follow your own ideas and create a completely individual finished piece.
What to expect

Learn the principles of negative painting before building layers of acrylic colour and texture on your canvas. Hollie will demonstrate how to paint around shapes to reveal new forms, helping you develop your composition while leaving plenty of room for your own creative decisions.
What you’ll make

An original acrylic painting on canvas that explores negative space, layered colour, texture and shape.
What to bring

Just yourself! All the tools and materials you’ll need will be provided. Please wear something you don’t mind getting a little paint on.
What's included

A canvas, acrylic paints, brushes and all the tools and materials required during the workshop are included.
